Intership Week #3

The work I do at my internship benefits everyone.  A lot of the work that I have been doing at my internship is with a website the company created for a golf club bag manufacturer.  I have been customizing bags for larger companies to show them what they could create on the website, the pictures of the bags will be sent to the companies in order to advertise the new site and hopefully bring business to the site.  This benefits the company that owns the site as well as the company I am interning at because it shows off there work.

My experiences at HTHMA have prepared me for this internship by showing me how to use many computer programs such as Photoshop.  These skills learned at school are very useful as I use them often at my internship. 

My project for internship has been going well.  I have mostly been doing "research" trying to find the most efficient way possible to complete the tasks.  I have not found any real challenges yet but I have found that to be thorough you need to be extremely organized in what you are doing.  To ensure completion of my internship project I have been working very efficiently and I have organized my time so that I will finish on time.

Internship Week #2

I see my role at my internship as an important one, throughout this week I have been doing a lot of site scrubbing.  What this entails is me going through every possible page on a website, making sure every link and every interactive piece works as intended.  Also I look for any visual defects, such as places where the website doesn't look as intended in the original design.  I also check for the functionality of the web site making sure that the website is easy to navigate, use and doesn't confuse the person looked to do something on the site.

Some of the experiences I will bring back to help further my academic experiences are those of organization and thoroughness.  Throughout my time here I have learned the usefulness of keeping things in line and organized.  I also found the usefulness of double checking everything before calling it done.  I have had to check several many things many times and find that I missed something the previous time.

The culture at my internship is very open and forthcoming.  There are no isolating cubicals separating people from each other.  It is a very calm and "expanding" environment where everyone can talk to each other and bounce ideas off each other.  Everyone is very friendly and open to critique.  The work goes through many of the people as the process of development continues.

Internship Week #1

Due to the last minute nature of my internship is doesn't actually start till Monday so I don't have any responses to the questions.

Pre-Internship Thoughts

My hopes for this internship are to learn how to create innovative and adaptive designs for websites.  I fear not being able to meet the expectations of my mentor.  And my dreams for this internship is to excel and accomplish all the goals beyond their expectations.
